Weapons O’ong Maryono’s personal collection of knives, swords, and a fan. Kipas Oong demonstrating the use of kipas. Kipas (Fan) Panglipur uses this kind of kipas (fan) as weapon in its demonstrations. The one below was donated to me by Panglipur master, Holidin. Rambang Merak This sheath is encased in metal over part of its surface. This is type of ornamental motif representing a peacock is called rambang merak. Keris To protect the keris a wooden sheath (sarong) is used. Keris This keris is estimated to have been made in the 12th century, during the Majapahit Kingdom (East Java). The handle is new. Keris This is keris given to me by my guru Mohammad Hadimulyo, founder of KPS Nusantara. It belongs to his family. Golok To make the golok unique, IPSI inscribes the name of the receiver on the blade. Sundanese Golok This is a Sundanese golok (West Java) that IPSI Jakarta gives to certain people in recognition of their dedication to pencak silat. It is 46cm long. Mandao The black stripe on the mandao indicates the use of poison. Mandao Originally, human hair taken from the enemies were used for decoration of the mandao, but nowadays leaves are used. Mandao and Golok These two weapons are a mandao from the interior of Kalimantan used by the Dayak ethnic group (above), and a golok from the island of Sumbawa (below). The mandao is 66 cm. long and the golok is 51cm long. Golok and Sword These two weapons are a golok from Toraja, South Celebes (above) and a sword or pedang from the island of Bawean (below). The golok is 71 cm. long, and the sword is 87cm long. Short Knife This is a short knife (30 cm) from Bukit Tinggi, West Sumatera. It was given to me as a present from Master Ramli, Sile’ Tuo, Bukit Tinggi. Short Weapon This is short weapon (15 cm.) from East Celebes (Bugis). It is very dangerous as it is impregnated with poison. Acehenese Blade This is an Acehenese blade or rencong aceh that measures 32cm. It was given to me by one of my students at KPS Nusantara Banda Aceh. Calok Lancor This is my favorite traditional weapon calok lancor from the island of Madura. It is a very dangerous weapon 118 cm. long. This was given to me as a present by master Hasan Habudin, founder of Pamur Madura.
